Mossy Creek Fly Fishing Forecast 5/25/2026

Brian brings us the forecast this week. It has been soggy and wet since last Thursday. The good news is we finally received some serious rain as we are sitting over 5 inches so far with more on the way through Wednesday. We have temporarily busted some of this drought. We are still in a deficit for rainfall and our groundwater still needs to be recharged. But for now we are looking at 2-3 weeks of really good high water levels mixed with more mild temperatures in the 70's during the day and lows in the 50's. This is really going to 'reset' our trout fishing for late spring and early summer. We will enjoy water flows at levels we didn't even see this year with even our smallest creeks unfishable at the moment. In a few days we will be back out at North River, Skidmore Fork, Dry River, and all of our local favorites. DWR stocked trout waters should fish nicely into June now and the spring creeks will see a return to dry fly action once clarity improves. Bass anglers will enjoy having some current to pull against on the oars vs pushing down river all day every day! The musky bite should be excellent as soon as that water clarity improves. Watch the radar and forecast on through Wednesday night as it won't take much of a small storm or heavy rain shower to blow us out! We are really looking forward to this coming weekend as we could have almost perfect conditions everywhere. Get your gear reorganized and get ready for a couple weeks of some excellent fishing ahead!!!
