River Bend Farm is located on approximately 2 miles of North River. This unique
stretch is one of the largest trout fisheries in the state. The waters here are
fed by spring seeps through its limestone bedrock as well as the waters from
Mossy, Spring, and Beaver Creeks. Dry River, one of Virginia’s finest brook
trout fisheries, runs into the North just downstream of farms property. This
large stretch boasts some incredible insect hatches of drakes, caddis,
hendricksons, blue wing olives, and giant eastern stoneflies. Wayne Showalter
has been generous enough to open this beautiful piece of trout water to the
public. This property is a fly fishing, catch and release, barbless hook
fishery. River Bend Farms is open for fishing Monday-Saturday.
