James and Shenandoah Rivers
We are back out on the Shenandoah and James every day. The fishing has been great. Watch out for afternoon thunderstorms as we have been getting wet most days. Stock up on your CK Baitfish, Clawdads, and topwater flies and hit the river!
Mountain Brook Trout Streams
The brook trout fishing is on fire right now! Take your favorite attractor dry flies up into the mountains and have a ball! Dry dropper rigs, small streamers, split shot, indicators, and plenty of floatant will be important to have along. We are using 9' 4-6X leaders right now depending on the size of the fly we are throwing. We have over 50,000 flies in stock now for the season! Stop by, say hi, and get some local intel at the shop 7 days a week!
Spring Creeks
The tricos and sulphurs are in full tilt on the creeks right now. We are having incredible dry fly fishing and the public stretches of Mossy and Beaver are on fire! Fishing early AM and late PM is great right now. Enjoy the premo water conditions while the season is in peak!
Managed Trout Water
Alright folks, VDGIF will only be stocking for another few weeks. Hit the Delayed Harvest streams while the fishing is good. In under 1 month, South River, North River, Passage, and your other favorite DH streams will be open for harvest. Take your attractor nymphs, streamers, and dries out and enjoy the weather and quality water conditions while they last!
