Carp fishing is a relatively new and growing aspect of fly fishing. Carp are plentiful in most of Virginia's waters and when actively feeding will readily take a fly. These spooky fish can be targeted on our float trips for smallmouth bass or we can choose specific floats to target these fish directly all day. Some floats are better than others for full day trips for carp. Most of our full day trips will take place on the Main Stem Shenandoah. Anglers looking for a distraction from a day of smallmouth fishing can take shots at them on the 'flats' on our local floats. We only fly fish for carp during our guided trips and all equipment and flies are supplied. Average fish in the Shenandoah River run around 8-12 pounds while fish up to 27 pounds have been landed. These spooky fish require long accurate casts and are not recommended for entry level anglers. If you want to experience the thrill of sight fishing to large feeding fish you may want to give this addicting angle to the sport a try.

We have been landing 100's of bass on the Shenandoah and huge fish on the James. The trout fishing on the spring creeks and up in the mountains couldn't get much better. We have a minimum of 3 trips booked every day into June. We will post reports daily when we get off the water! Look for bass and trout trips in mid to late June.
