Beginner Fly Fishing Class

Interested in learning to fly fish? Have a friend or family member that is curious about this fast growing sport? We have the most active fly fishing schools in Virginia! We teach 100's of anglers annually at our Harrisonburg and Wintergreen Resort locations. Our Orvis Endorsed Fly Fishing School holds classes on private waters minutes from our shop in Harrisonburg. During our half day class the use of rods, reels, and lines is explained. You will also learn how to properly choose equipment to match different kinds of fishing: lake, river, spring creek, and saltwater. You will learn the necessary knots to properly rig your outfit, fly selection, and about all the gear used. After our classroom presentation we hit the water for in-depth casting instruction, catching fish, and having fun.

All classes are private and by reservation only. We can hold classes 7 days a week year round(excluding holidays) and based around your schedule! All equipment is furnished. If you haven't purchased an outfit yet, it is suggested that you hold off buying any tackle until after the class when you will be better prepared to make an informed decision. Corporate groups are welcome. We keep our classes limited to a maximum of 4 students per instructor with larger groups to ensure everyone gets the best personal attention.  We have 10% OFF Coupons available for all students participating in our schools!

Classes are all half day lasting around 5 hours
